This skirt has been a long time in the making and is probably my most thought out, planned make yet.  I first pinned this Michael Kors’ skirt over a year ago.  It is the colour that I love most about this skirt, I kept my eye open for over a year for just the right fabric.  But, I came up empty handed.  When I saw this skirt I knew the Sewaholic’s Crescent skirt pattern would be the perfect pattern for this project and my resolve to make this skirt amped up!  I went down to my local and bought three meters of beautiful white rayon batiste.  I ordered some Amazon Green Dylon dye.  This stuff is amazing, I threw the fabric and dye in the washing machine, turned the machine on and out came the exact fabric I was looking for!

I ran into a little snag when I went to make the skirt, two of the pattern pieces for the skirt were missing.  If you had a look at my sewing studio you would understand why! I decided to use the lining pieces for both the inside and out.  To create the maxi-ness, I just measured from my hip down to the floor and added a few inches.  I then just extended the skirt pieces straight down to that length.

Here are some photos.  We went over to Government House yesterday evening and had a little photoshoot in the gardens overlooking the Juan de Fuca straight.
